Farm Girl Clothing For Casual Style

By
By Harriet Porter

The vintage, rustic look of rural apparel may be very appealing to you, especially if you are a very casual, laid-back individual. Farm girl clothing has many elements that will fit both your personality and your wardrobe. Integrating these clothing articles into your current inventory will give you a rustic appeal and a fresh and exciting way of reviving the clothes you already own.

The main staple of this style of clothing is, of course, denim. Jeans, shorts, jackets, coats, skirts and bib overalls will all reflect an authentic country lifestyle. They can be purchased in a wide array of shades and tones but the newer and darker styles will not fit in this category. Choosing faded, worn and sometimes even torn or distressed jeans are what will work the very best with the other country clothing articles that you have selected.

If you wish to look truly authentic, wear the boot-cut jeans. Jeggings and skinny jeans are too modern and contemporary to fit in this style category and will not give you the true country look that you are looking for. Wearing bib overall short-alls can look really amazing in the summer when paired with tube or tank tops or even a very plain, solid-color tee shirt.

A very close relative to denim is chambray, especially blue chambray. This much lighter weight material can be worn as shirts, skirts or short or long dresses. The apparel can become even more of a country-style if you add Western buttons, trim or snaps. Chambray compared to denim is like tea is to sugar - they complement each other very well and present a united look and appeal.

Another common element in this type of attire is checks. Dresses, blouses and shirts in this pattern of red or blue are also a definite staple. You can add snaps, embroidery, trim and ties to these articles to make them stand out more. If you wear these with denim, you will have a standard rural look that can be worn at many casual events.

Add checks to your accessories also. This pattern can be applied to bags, headbands, belts and purses. A red or blue pair of sandals can give your outfit a extra spot of color.

Blue or red bandana prints are perfect for apparel and accessories. Shirts, tops, skirts and simple dresses can be an instant hit with this traditional and bright design. Other colors such as yellow, purple, black or yellow can be used also.

Add a definite feminine touch to this category and you will not be at all disappointed in the variety of peasant blouses, long skirts and delicate flower-print dresses that are available. Adding unique footwear and vintage accessories will give your outfit a definite country appeal.

You can add footwear to these styles for additional impact. Laced boots, cowboy boots or even granny shoes will definitely give your attire an individual look. Wear them with a long skirt, jeans or shorts to set your style apart from others.

You can wear this type of attire almost anywhere in the city, country or town. It is indicative of an earthy, solid personality with strength and tenacity. Just because you may live in a city, doesn't mean that a little bit of country doesn't still live within you.
