What Every Buyer Should Know About The Purchase And Care Of Full Lace Wigs

Wigs continue to be a popular choice for people struggling with hair loss due to illness, as well as those who want a new look without drastically changing their own hair, such as many celebrities. Lace wigs in particular have become the hairpiece of choice recently due to their versatility. The most natural look possible is produced by this type of wig which consists of a thin mesh cap worn against the scalp and hair follicles which look like they are growing out of it.

Because most of these wigs are manufactured from human hair, they not only provide a natural look, but also allow the wearer to style them any way they wish. Full lace styles cover the whole head, whereas lace frontals and lace front wigs only provide added fullness in the front and cover that area.

If the wig is well maintained, this will improve its durability and how long it lasts which can be for several years with proper care. When adhesives are used, the wig may be worn for as long as two or three weeks before it will need to be reapplied. Those without natural hair, have better adhesion and can typically wear the wig longer.

It's important to choose a wig cap color which matches one's own skintone as closely as possible. The color choice should be based on the hairline not the whole body. In general those with light skin should choose transparent, medium or tan complexions are best with beige, and darker skinned people can use light or dark brown.

The hair used to make the wig can vary in its thickness, sheen, texture, and weight. Some types are better suited to styling or dying another color than others. Mongolian remy offers waves with a matte finish, while Mongolian remy gives shine and thickness, Chinese remy provides a thick hair which is great for coloring and styling and Indian remy offers superb fine, silky, sleekness.

Wearers must learn the proper method of applying and securing the wig if they want it to look its best. If there is natural hair it should be covered with a wig cap or cornrowed close to the scalp, the lace on the wig will need to be trimmed carefully to fit the hairline correctly, and it must be secured properly with combs and glue. Pulling a few baby hairs or strands of one's own hair through can help make the hairline look more natural too.

It's best to also purchase a wig stand where the unit can rest and hold its shape when not in use. To keep it clean, two spray bottles, one filled with water and shampoo and the other with conditioner and water can be used in that order, combing the solution through and rinsing in between, then blotting the wig dry and allowing it to finish drying on its stand.

What makes wearers so fond of these wigs is the fact that they can basically wear and style them as they can their actual hair. Most can be curled with an iron or curlers, straightened with a flat iron, or blow dried. At bedtime, the head should be covered with a scarf, and a satin pillowcase should be used.
