Medical conditions such as alopecia, cancer, and chemotherapy usually result in hair loss. As a result it is good to invest in a good gear. As time goes by changes are realized in the style of head cover that patients were initially allowed to wear. Other gears are slowly replacing cancer turbans that have been around for decades. Forms of gear for head coverings for hair loss include wigs, scarves, caps, hats, and turbans among other designs.

Loose hair is known for contaminating food and work stations. That is the reason hairnets and snoods were invented to ensure that hair is maintained at the back of the head when one is working. Natural and synthetic wigs are worn by people as a costume, but they are mostly worn by people to hide baldness and thin. In some circumstances, wigs serve to symbolize office, rank, or authority like in the cases of barristers, parliamentary speakers, and judges.

Sun protected summer hats are a good product for sun-venturing individuals. They come with sweat bands that are adjustable to fit properly. The interiors are very soft and one can get them in modern styles. Winter hats are designed for providing same comfort as turbans, even though they are contain unique features, which include water proof wool.

Finding scarves specifically tailored for patients experiencing hair loss is hard. If they exist, it is recommendable that they be made from very soft cotton to prevent heat insulation. The other benefit they present over scarves made from silk or polyester is that they never slip on bald heads easily. One can buy, pre-tied scarves or settle for the untied ones.

Head dresses are worn for both official and casual reasons. A cover could, in fact give an insight of the values, concepts, or the occasion a person is headed for judging by their choice of head wear. The designs of hats usually differ as they are meant to be worn in different situations such as at funerals, weddings, or prayers. Head covers depict fashion and can give people distinguished appearances.

Helmets are specifically meant for skull and neck protection against trauma. Sports like boxing and American football cause a lot of trauma and make it necessary to wear some protective gear. Other professional who wear helmets include construction site workers, motorcyclists, cyclists, and skaters. Countries have clear laws regarding the wearing of helmets in particular job categories.

Orthodontic hats are applied in correcting anteroposterior discrepancies, control mandibular and maxillary bones from overgrowing. Short upper jaws may be encouraged to grow frontward through continued wearing of orthodontic covers. They are manufactured with fitting straps, elastics, cap, and face bow. Treatment headdresses must be set by medical practitioners and not just anyone.

Removing headdresses sends varied messages. Distinct directives exist in the military governing the wearing of hats. In the military, removing a hat implies salutation. Tilting forward, raising, touching, or briefly removing the hat are among the ways of salutation. Many country statutes require citizens to show respect by removing their hats when the national anthem is playing.
