- Identifying the right brand

Before I talk about Alpine design products, I want to make sure we're all clear on what we're talking about, as there was another company with the name Alpine Designs (with an "S"). This was a different company that was independently owned back in the 60's, and has nothing to do with the brand Alpine design, which is a label privately owned by Sports Authority. This clothing brand is mainly meant for those who venture into the outdoors often. They make apparel for activities such as hiking and backpacking trips. In this article we will only be discussing those products produced by Alpine design of Sports Authority.

- Clothing design

Alpine design makes clothing for both genders, mainly intended for outdoor activities and sports. They are also popularly known as a "budget brand," as their items are fairly priced and created from budget material. I once owned a pair of Alpine design slippers, they had been comfortable and useful when they were in tact. Unfortunately, they didn't last me longer than a few months. The sole slowly began to flop and tear away from the remaining portion of the slipper, and then there was no stopping it once it started to tear. I'd guess their products varied based upon their purpose. Their clothing pieces like shorts and jackets frequently continue for many years provided they aren't abused. Their jackets are constructed from 100% polyester and perform a decent job of providing you with shelter from the elements.

- Product highlights

Though they may be considered a budget brand, they certainly have their strengths in superior product design. For me, their backpacks usually have held true. From their various styles of backpacks, they are made with the outdoors-man in mind. The featured Alpine design ruck sack backpack features padded shoulder straps for elevated comfort during your long hikes. In addition, it incorporates a main compartment with hydration sleeve for a quick and convenient use of your water. It's on the lighter side in terms of hiking backpacks. I'll soon be putting it on the real test by using it along with me on a hike. It is not really meant to hold multiple days worth of supplies, simply enough to support a few days worth of essentials. However, this will definitely be my next Alpine product purchase.

- Summing it up

Overall, Alpine design delivers what they claim in their advertisements. Their budget material brand products serve their purpose for the time period that they are taken care of. Some products (like pieces of clothing) will last longer than others due to their material design. Either way, if you're heading into the great outdoors and don't have too much to spend on gear, Alpine design could be just the solution for you.
